By all means let's be open-minded, but not so open-minded that our brains drop out.

DIY earings.

How easy it can be! I purchased a jewelry making kit a couple days ago, it's so much fun! I have not been up to anything else lately, just been occupied with making jewelry! These earrings a made from an old necklace I just did not wear anymore, so I decided to just make some cute earrings of them instead. cute cute!

Second hand.

Found this old vintage look a like picture from a local second hand shop. I gave 50 p for it. I like how the frame is in a bad condition, because it makes it look a bit more old, retro and shabby. Just got the love the can can dancers!

Salvador Dali Melting Clock!

Finally got my long wanted clock! Got it from a shop called Gravity, in Newcastle under lyme. Makes me think of Salvador Dali's painting "The Persistence of Memory" or in Spanish "La persistencia de la memoria". It's probably the most recognizable surrealist painting in the world. I'm so fascinated by his work. There is nothing more interesting than to sit down and analyze Salvador Dali's paintings, so freaky.

A life without Art???

Art is something that I could never live without. I could never ever imagine my home without paintings or sculptures, it is something that represent me and my life. A apartment without art for me, just looks so impersonal. This is some paintings and sculptures I've got at home, most of them are made by my mother :)

A cocoon in the background, and two fishes..And a poor plant!!!! my mums, Marie Jonsson Langhans little creations!

I got these adorable hanging flowerpots for my 20th birthday,
of course my mother made them! :D I love them, unfortunately I haven't used them yet, because I've only got three windows and they are already filled with flowers and sculptures, so I rather hang them up in our future apartment in England :)

My mum made this one about 20 years ago. I don't know if you can see but it's actually a self portrait of her holding me when I was a baby! :)

These two painting (above and below) are made by my mums friend.
I just love them because their faces looks kinda scary in a way.

One of my mum Marie Jonsson Langhans's paintings. Most of her art is inspired of the Maldives,
where she used to spend most of her time in the '80!

some more paintings made by my dear mum Marie Jonsson Langhans.

I would rather live in an apartment over filled with art, than live in a apartment with no art at all!

I went through some old pics....

And I found one of my first mosaic pots. This model is more like a champagne cooler but can also be used as a flowerpot! I've got loads of new tiles that I just can't wait to smash into pieces and then make some nice new motives!

“Love of beauty is Taste. The creation of beauty is Art.”

I mentioned earlier that I'm a big fan of art. I grew up with art because both my parents are artists. My mother paints and does ceramic sculptures and my father does the same but is more in to sculptures (stain less steel). So Art is definitely in my blood!!
So I decided to post some of my own little artie-fartie creations!
A couple a years ago I got really inspired of the art called Mosaic. Cant remember how I got in to it, but as soon as I started I couldn't get enough of it. My mother came up with an idea that she could make some pots out of clay and then I could decorate it with mosaic. Here is some pictures!

I made these 2008-2009, I'll post some more pics later.
